Child Psychologist (P

Natalie is a Provisional Psychologist currently completing her Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology at the Australian College of Applied Professions. During her undergrad years, Natalie gained experience in supportive roles, including volunteer work on a support line for families of people experiencing drug or alcohol dependence, and as a mentor through a women's refuge. In these roles Natalie aimed to provide empathy and understanding to her clients, and used techniques such as motivational interviewing and providing psycho-education to support clients and help mentees achieve their goals.

In the course of her Master's degree, Natalie has gained experience working with a range of psychological presentations including anxiety, depression, ADHD and trauma. She has experience with individual and group therapy settings, and has worked with both child and adult clients. Natalie co-facilitated a Cool Kids group program, in which she helped to administer a manualised cognitive-behavioural treatment for anxiety in children. She has also received training in administering learning assessments such as the Weschler Intelligence Scale for Children - Fifth Edition (WISC-V), Weschler Individual Achievement Test - Third Edition (WIAT-III) and Weschler Adult Intelligence Scale - Fourth Edition (WAIS-IV).

Natalie utilises evidence-based therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Mindfulness. She aims to build a collaborative and supportive therapeutic environment, in order to help clients gain skills and strategies to meet their therapeutic goals.

Qualifications

Natalie has completed a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) from the Australian College of Applied Professions and is currently undertaking a Master of Clinical Psychology. She holds provisional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). She is under the supervision of Dr Kimberley O'Brien.
