Jennifer Shore

Child Psychologist

Jennifer is a Registered Psychologist at the Quirky Kid Clinic in Wollongong. She has a passion for working with children and their families, supporting them to improve their ability to understand each other and work together. Jennifer has a special interest in working collaboratively with families and schools to ensure children can find their unique voice to communicate their needs, goals, and thrive in their daily lives and build a peaceful home. She aims to provide neurodiversity-affirming care and works from a strengths-based approach to support children to find their confidence and independence.

She has 14 years of experience working with young people and their families in a variety of settings, including Early Education and Early Intervention settings, Primary and High schools, and practising as a psychologist with individuals and families across the lifespan. She works primarily with children and adolescents presenting with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Major Depressive Disorder, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Selective Mutism, learning difficulties, and behavioural concerns. She has experience working within multidisciplinary settings, providing therapy for individuals with significant feeding difficulties, including sensory-related feeding difficulties, Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder, and Rumination Disorder.

Jennifer has experience working in Early Intervention settings for children and providing Parent Support for families navigating the diagnostic journey. She currently works within multiple therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) feeding approach. She is experienced in administering the Weschler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-V) and is also experienced in administering and scoring psychometric assessments including the Adaptive Behavior Assessment System (ABAS-3), Achenbach System of Empirically Based Assessment (ASEBA), Conners 3, Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2), and developing NDIS case-plans.

Jennifer loves to spend time with her family, going on long bush walks and camping on the weekends. She also enjoys growing different types of cacti and succulents.

Qualifications

Jennifer is accredited with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and a Master of Psychology (School Psychology), a Graduate Certificate in Autism Studies from the University of Wollongong.

She holds General Registration with the Australian Psychology Board (AHPRA).
