Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule

The Quirky Kid clinic includes leading Educational and Developmental Psychologists and Psychologists that are experienced in the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorders.
A revision of the “Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule”, the ADOS-2, is an observational assessment of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The ADOS-2 is a semi-structured, standardised assessment of communication, social interaction, play, and restricted and repetitive behaviours. It presents various activities that elicit behaviours directly related to a diagnosis of ASD. By observing and coding these behaviours, you can obtain information that informs diagnosis, treatment planning, and educational placement. Clinicians must be trained ADOS-2 administrators as this is the most reliable diagnostic tool currently recognized by international Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) experts.

The ADOS-2 consists of four modules and a toddler module. Each module contains a series of activities designed for use with children or adults at a particular developmental and language level, ranging from no expressive or receptive language to verbally fluent adults. Only one module is administered to an individual at any given point in time.
