Quirky Kid presented its emerging digital child psychology work at RISE 2018 in Hong Kong, taking part in the conference startup program and live PITCH competition.
RISE was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 9 to 12 July 2018. Quirky Kid used the event to present an early version of the digital service that would later develop into BriteChild.
The official RISE 2018 attendance report recorded 15,774 attendees from 102 countries, more than 750 exhibiting startups and 316 speakers.
Presenting child psychology in a technology setting
The event gave Quirky Kid an opportunity to test how its psychology expertise could translate into scalable digital support for parents and professionals.
Selected for the startup and PITCH programs
Quirky Kid participated through the early-stage startup pathway and PITCH program.
The official RISE guide describes PITCH as a competition for 70 selected early-stage startups presenting to investors, media and global partners.
For Quirky Kid, the value was both exposure and direct contact with founders, technology companies, investors and potential partners while the digital concept was still developing.
An early step towards BriteChild
The Hong Kong presentation forms part of the early development history of BriteChild, which later received Australian Government funding and became Quirky Kid's dedicated digital psychology service.

RISE remains a useful milestone in Quirky Kid's expansion from psychology clinics and publishing into technology-enabled mental health services.
