We are excited to welcome Kin Kora State School located in the industrial city of Gladstone, Queensland to our BaseCamp® program.
BaseCamp® is an evidence-based and multi-award winning Social and Emotional Learning program (SEL) developed by The Quirky Kid Clinic and is now used by dozens of schools and clinics globally.
About Kin Kora State School
Established in 1982, Kin Kora State School is a well respected co-educational State Primary School with over 900 students, where students are treated as individuals with a specific focus on their academic and social development.
Kin Kora State School's motto is "strive for success" which is embedded in their wellbeing approach to provide students with a comprehensive educational program that fosters a supportive school environment where positive relationships are valued and guided by a pedagogy that meets the academic, social and cultural needs of students by focusing on the social and emotional wellbeing of each student.
Kin Kora State School aims for their students to develop as competent and critical learners, effective communicators, complex thinkers and socially responsible citizens, which will be further developed through undertaking the Base Camp® Program.

How the BaseCamp® program will be implemented at Kin Kora State School
The Base Camp® program will launch at Kin Kora State School in 2022 and be closely supported by our team of facilitators. Each participant will receive a copy of the exclusive workbook developed by Quirky Kid. To offer students the necessary support, facilitators and parents will have access to an extensive range of information, manuals and regular supervision as required.
To ensure appropriate evaluation, each child and group will complete pre and post psychometric testing of their social and emotional skills to measure the outcome of the Base Camp ® program. Evaluation and monitoring is an important component of the program.We look forward to working closely with Kin Kora State School in enhancing their students wellbeing!
