Mental Health Care Plan
Medicare provides rebates for Psychological Consultations under a Mental Health Treatment Plan. To access the Medicare rebate, you must have a referral from a GP, Paediatrician or a Psychiatrist, under a Mental Health Treatment Plan. You are able to receive rebates for 10 psychological consultations per calendar year.

Medicare and Autism
Medicare also provides rebates for the assessment and treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders. In order to receive a rebate for your child’s autism assessment, you must be referred by a psychiatrist or paediatrician. The referral must request assistance in assessing the child or in developing a treatment plan. This Medicare item is available for a maximum of four sessions, and is limited to children under 13 years of age.

In order to access Medicare rebates for the treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders, you must also have a referral from a psychiatrist or paediatrician who is managing the child under a Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD) Treatment plan.
This Medicare item is available for a maximum of twenty sessions, and is limited to children under 15 years of age.
How to Claim your Rebates
To claim your rebate, you need to present your referral letter AND a copy of the mental health treatment plan, and your medicare card. We are currently NOT able process your rebate at the clinic. You will need to present a receipt to your closest Medicare Office.
Please note that our school and clinic based workshops are not covered by Medicare.
