Dr. Kathryn Berry

Dr Kathryn Berry is employed as a Clinical Psychologist at the Quirky Kid Clinic Austinmer.

As part of her PhD, Dr Kathryn Berry  was placed with the Westmead Hospital Anxiety and Depression Clinic as well as at the Westmead Children’s Hospital Department of Psychological Medicine and Acute Psychiatric Ward, providing individual and family-based interventions for children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, depression and other acute psychiatric conditions. Subsequently, as part of her thesis, she worked with the Catholic School system across Sydney implementing a CBT-based resilience building program for anxious, bullied adolescents. The program demonstrated positive outcomes and the findings were published by the Journal of Adolescent Health (2009).

Most recently, Dr. Kathryn Berry worked with a team at the Macquarie University Anxiety Research Unit (MARU) implementing a CBT-based group program for anxious children.

Prior to joining Quirky Kid, Kathryn was employed as a School Counsellor with the Illawarra Christian School where she provided a range of psychological interventions for children experiencing depression, anxiety, ODD, Tourette’s disorder, etc. In this capacity, she also assisted families, developed networks with local services and managed complex cases.

Dr. Kathryn Berry has completed a Bachelor of Economics (Social Science) with an Honours in Psychology (Class 1,University Medal) from the University of Sydney. She has also completed a Doctor of Clinical Psychology / Master of Science from the University of Sydney.

Dr. Kathryn Berry is a Registered Psychologist endorsed in Clinical Psychology by the Psychology Board of Australia and is a full member of The Australian Psychological Society (APS).

Kathryn works only on Wednesdays, during school hours.
