Play Skills
The Quirky Kid Clinic provides Play Skills training as part of a family focused, well structured and evidence based early intervention services for children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Based on Dr Rick Solomon’s P.L.A.Y Project, it is possible to enhance your child’s play skills and interactions with others around them. Improvements in play skills can often lead to improvements in language skills, social skills and behaviour.
Play skills training can involve:
- Increasing creativity and imagination in play
- Increasing the quality of your child’s play
- Increasing the variety of toys and games your child engages with
The Play Skills training offered by the Quirky Kid Clinic aims to teach new skills and behaviours to children with an ASD, as well as improving on their current skills. Play Skills training is offered in conjuction with other evidence-based therapies provided by our clinic as part of a well-rounded early intervention program. Play skills training can be run from our clinic, your home or your child’s school or preschool. If you believe Play Skills training may help your child, or if you would like more information, please Contact Us.
