Belinda Jones
Belinda Jones is employed as a Child Psychologist at the Quirky Kid Clinic. Belinda is a registered psychologist and authorised supervisor with 12 years experience in working with children and adolescents.
Belinda has previously worked as a School Counsellor and as a psychologist for elite child and adolescent athletes competing internationally. She also has vast experience working with young people in out of home care.
Belinda has completed a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology), a Master of Arts (Psychology) and a Master of Psychology (Sports Psychology). Belinda also holds a certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a Diploma in Modern Languages (French).
Belinda is experienced with the majority of childhood and adolescent presentations and has extensively studied developmental neurobiology and the role of attachment and trauma in children and young people.
Belinda started her career as a researcher at the University of Western Sydney and at the Kirketon Road Centre as an outreach counsellor.
Belinda expanded her experience within the Marymead Child and Family Service working with children in out of home care with a history of abuse by providing individual intervention, implementing behaviour modification plans and assessing foster parents. Belinda has also worked with children and families affected by child sexual assault, both at Dympna House and the NSW Rape Crisis Center.
Belinda spent three years in Canberra working with elite athletes as a Psychologist for the Australian Institute of Sport. Belinda worked closely with young elite and developmental athletes by providing individual counselling, team programs and performance enhancement programs in Australia and overseas. During her time in Canberra, Belinda also lectured in Sport Psychology at the Canberra Institute of Technology .
As a School Counsellor, Belinda worked with Rosebank College and Saint Scholastica’s College for 5 years. Belinda provided quality individual and family counselling and group programs to students as well as providing in-house staff training. Belinda was highly recommended by these institutions.
Belinda also holds a great deal of interest in experiential and outdoor recreation programs for children and young people and has organised trips for groups of children to Ontario Canada to attend Camp Bil-O-Wood, a traditional American Summer Camp.
Belinda is a Member of the Psychological Society (APS) and complies with working with children legislation.
