Child Psychologist

The Quirky Kid Clinic has a position available at our Sydney Office for a Developmental and Educational Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist with significant experience with children and families.

The successful candidate will possess outstanding clinical skills with the ability to communicate creatively with children and adolescents combined with a minimum of 5 years experience working in the field of Developmental Psychology after registration.

Essential Criteria:

  • Membership or eligibility for membership in the APS College of Ed & Dev Psychologists or the APS College of Clinical Psychologists.
  • Masters, Doctorate or PhD in Developmental/Educational or Clinical Psychology.
  • Demonstrated experience and interest in working effectively with children diagnosed with an ASD.
  • Experience administering and scoring psychometric assessments (eg: ADOS, WISC-IV, SB-5) and exceptional report writing skills towards diagnosing learning disabilities and other learning difficulties
  • Professional presentation, outstanding oral and written communication skills as well as current I.T skills.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to work independently towards project completion.
  • Prepare and maintain all records, reports and documents as required. Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Present high quality documents.
  • Confidence and energy to contribute to business development.

Position Description:

  • Providing psychological assessments and evidence-based intervention for children aged 2-18 years old.
  • Providing parenting and school-based strategies to address emotional and behavioural issues;
  • Conducting practical workshops for children, professionals and parents in a range of settings and subjects
  • Providing a range of interventions for children and families managing an ASD or another developmental disorder;
  • Participating in peer supervision and professional development opportunities.
  • Working as a team to maintain our high standard of service for existing and new clients.
  • Participating in the development of new QK resources and projects as required.
  • Collaborating to ensure the continued growth of the Quirky Kid Clinic in Australia and internationally;
  • Adhering to the Quirky Kid work ethics and reporting requirements.

Further Information:

Salary is based on experience within the range of $64-65k per year + benefits (pro-rata).
This is a part-time position ( 20 hours) on Mondays,Tuesdays and alternative Saturdays.
